- 1 egg
- 1 1/8 cups milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 cup raisins
- Use a prepared biscuit mixture or the biscuit mixture listed above. In either case, add a beaten egg with the milk in mixing the dough. transfer to a board dusted with flour; and roll into oblong shape one-fourth inch in thickness.
- Spread with two tablespoons of the butter stirred to a cream; sprinkle with the cinnamon and two tablespoons of the brow sugar and the raisins; and roll up the dough as in making a jelly roll.
- Cream together the remaining butter and brown sugar and spread thickly on the sides and bottom of a heavy frying pan. (cast iron) Cut the dough crosswise in two inch slices; place cut side down in the frying pan.
- Bake in a hot oven (375 degrees) for 30 minutes or until brown on top. Carefully turn upside down on a plate, taking care not to spill the syrup and serve warm or cold.
